Smartsheet is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for their Big Data Platform team to shape the architecture and infrastructure for data-driven products. You'll work with technologies like BigQuery and Apache Spark, focusing on data architecture and management. This role requires significant experience in data engineering and architecture.
You have over 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable data platforms. Your expertise includes designing and overseeing data architecture, ensuring reliability and performance in data pipelines and storage solutions. You are skilled in data modeling and management, with a strong understanding of data quality and governance policies. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
You have a deep understanding of big data technologies and frameworks, including Apache Spark and BigQuery. Your experience includes developing data pipelines that handle petabytes of structured and unstructured data, and you are familiar with best practices in data governance and quality assurance. You are passionate about leveraging data for analytics and business insights, and you are eager to contribute to innovative solutions that empower teams.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are always looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
