We are looking for an SDE who bring their expertise to the intersection of data, audio, and algorithm development for Amazon's Echo and Alexa enabled products. Our team aims develop the data and infrastructure backbone that enables and accelerates algorithm development. Our mission is to scale the collection, processing, generation, and analysis of data for Alexa Enabled devices in a way that’s private, simple, and accurate. We collect, generate, process and own over 1,750 years of data in support of over 20+ Amazon devices.
Key job responsibilities
*You will lead the development and support of existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our customer demands.
* You will engineer and build a cloud services that sre reliable and available to provide scale for our customers
* You will work on features that enhance the quality of service and security for our customers.
* You will collaborate and work on initiatives across multiple teams to build networking functions on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes.
*You will also create new services and capabilities to meet emerging needs as our business grows.
*You will develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines.
* You will work with multiple cross functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure you build for audio + sensor applications.
* You will develop and mentor junior and new team members.
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Development experience in Java, Python, C# or C++, Typescript
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in AWS services like Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, building infrastructure with CDK

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
