Overview

Reddit is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Product & Platform Compliance to provide legal guidance on product development and regulatory requirements. This role requires 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with in-house experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced legal professional with over 5 years of legal experience, ideally with at least 3 years in-house. You possess a law degree (JD) and have a strong understanding of product development processes and regulatory compliance. Your passion for collaborating with cross-functional teams allows you to navigate complex legal challenges effectively. You are adept at analyzing new and existing regulations that impact consumer products and translating legal requirements into actionable product guidelines. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to staying at the forefront of law and technology.

Desirable

Experience in intermediary liability, information access, privacy, and content safety is highly desirable. You have a proven track record of developing strong cross-functional relationships and deep product knowledge, which enables you to serve as a strategic partner to product and business teams. Your ability to anticipate and plan for future regulatory requirements sets you apart as a leader in your field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will advise Reddit’s consumer product teams throughout all stages of product development, helping them navigate potential legal risks. You will analyze relevant regulations and work closely with product teams to implement necessary legal requirements into product specifications. Your expertise will guide product and business teams in anticipating future regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and minimizing legal risks. You will develop strong relationships with colleagues across various departments, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Your contributions will help shape the legal landscape of Reddit’s innovative products, ensuring they align with industry standards and regulations.
