Amazon is hiring a Data Center IT Support Engineer to manage and troubleshoot infrastructure in their data centers. You'll work with Linux and AWS technologies to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a strong technical background and problem-solving skills.
You have a solid background in IT support, particularly in data center environments, and are excited about working with server and networking technology. Your experience with Linux systems makes you a valuable asset in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. You thrive in dynamic environments where each day presents new challenges, and you are eager to contribute to the operations of one of the largest data centers in the world. You understand the importance of collaboration and are comfortable working with logistics and other teams to maintain daily operations. You are adaptable and ready to take on shift work, including night shifts, as part of your commitment to ensuring the highest level of service.
Experience with AWS is a plus, as it aligns with the infrastructure you will be supporting. Familiarity with physical server and network configurations will enhance your ability to perform your role effectively. You are proactive in your approach to problem-solving and are always looking for ways to improve processes and systems within the data center.
In this role, you will be the escalation point for technical issues, diving deep into Linux server problems and providing solutions to ensure minimal downtime. You will be responsible for the remediation of physical layer outages, both systems and network, and will participate in events related to data center power and cooling. Your day-to-day tasks will include installing and configuring racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs, as well as triaging and resolving trouble tickets for all devices in your region. You will also be involved in the physical replacement of server and network components, ensuring that all systems are operational and efficient.
