Mozilla is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to rebuild their Identity and Access Management (IAM) system. You'll work with technologies like Java and Python, focusing on enhancing scalability and security. This position requires significant experience in software engineering.
You have extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in building and modernizing complex systems. Your background includes a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, where you've contributed to enhancing scalability and security. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you understand the intricacies of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS. You have a solid grasp of security best practices and are committed to creating user-friendly experiences. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. You are passionate about open-source software and the mission of making the internet a better place for everyone.
Experience with IAM systems or similar security frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with modern cloud technologies and a strong understanding of user experience design principles will set you apart. You are also encouraged to bring any additional skills in programming languages or frameworks that could enhance the IAM modernization project.
In this role, you will lead the modernization of Mozilla's IAM system, focusing on scalability and security enhancements. You will collaborate with the Cloud Engineering organization to design and implement solutions that serve both enterprise and product platform needs. Your responsibilities will include analyzing current IAM processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance user experience. You will also be involved in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle. Your work will directly impact how Mozilla manages identity and access, contributing to the overall mission of improving the internet for users worldwide.
Mozilla offers a competitive salary range for this position, with compensation between $128,000 and $170,000 CAD depending on your experience and location within Canada.
