Amazon Studios is looking for a seasoned, dynamic Visual Effects Production Supervisor to support global production efforts on Originals Movies.
The Visual Effects Production Supervisor will be responsible for working with the HOD and executive team members to ensure that all studio systems are in place, correct pipelines and mechanisms are being followed and that the department has all the appropriate tools, templates, contacts and approvals to perform their day-to-day tasks. Additionally, the VFX Production Supervisor will oversee the internal Coordinators, training both external and internal partners on our custom templates.
The position will work closely with internal partners, including Production, Post-Production, Legal and Risk. The chosen candidate will also construct organized system architecture and develop coordinated workflows to support projects and the department.
Key job responsibilities
• Assist the HOD in building a robust departmental structure that oversees the visual effects needs on a demanding slate of multi-genre feature films.
• Collaborate with VFX teams, Legal, Risk and Finance in prepping project documentation.
• Collaborate with Content Security and Technology teams.
• Create VFX breakdowns from scripts using internal AI tools and working alongside the executives, to help them develop a well-formatted production plan.
• Investigate emerging technology and how to apply it to projects to achieve creative goals.
• Develop department databases to track vendors, project details, including dates, notes, crew.
• Collaborate with Amazon production technology and AWS to create and provide cloud hosting for department.
• Manage weekly reports with VFX producers to track the overall VFX project status and Hot Costs.
• Work with the HOD, VFX producers and the studio VFX executives, to develop an internal weekly reporting system.
• Manage weekly delivery reporting with VFX producers to keep shows on schedule.
• Collaborate with VFX teams to optimize project workflows and execution.
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures used in one or more of the following domains: VFX, live-action film production, Post-production, and the game technologies
- 10+ years of VFX environment experience
- 5+ years of experience as Visual Effects Production Management or the equivalent.
- Excellent organization skills; ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Ability to prioritize and respond effectively in fast paced environment, across shows in various points of production.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technology and take on more responsibility
- Experience with visual effects feature film delivery workflows.
- Experience with a variety of digital media workflows and post-production.
- Experience with a thorough reach of global VFX vendor partners.
- Even-tempered, grace under pressure, discrete, high-level judgement in absence of data.
- Strategic problem solving.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
