AbCellera is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in Protein Mass Spectrometry to develop and qualify analytical methods for protein characterization. You'll work with mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques in Vancouver.
You are a highly motivated scientist with hands-on experience in mass spectrometry and analytical techniques. You have a strong background in protein characterization, particularly with antibodies and therapeutic proteins. Your expertise includes developing and qualifying LC-MS methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis. You are comfortable performing detailed protein structural interrogation, including sequence confirmation and disulfide mapping. You enjoy collaborating in a fast-paced environment and mentoring team members to enhance their skills. You are driven by scientific rigor and the pursuit of truth in your work.
Experience with additional analytical assays for protein characterization, such as ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) and light scattering techniques, is a plus. Familiarity with capillary electrophoresis and imaged capillary isoelectric focusing will also be beneficial. A background in developing impactful antibody-based medicines will set you apart.
In this role, you will focus on the characterization of antibodies and other therapeutic proteins. You will develop, design, and qualify LC-MS methods for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Your responsibilities will include performing detailed protein structural interrogation, which involves sequence confirmation, sequence variant identification, and disulfide mapping. You will also develop and perform analytical assays for protein characterization, utilizing techniques such as UHPLC, SEC-MALS, DLS, CE-SDS, and icIEF. You will work closely with a diverse team of scientists, collaborating on projects that aim to turn scientific insights into breakthrough medicines. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
At AbCellera, you will be part of a team that integrates biology, computation, and engineering to develop impactful antibody-based medicines.
