Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operation Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and various cooling systems, ensuring that mission-critical facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. You understand the importance of maintaining high uptime in data centers and are committed to delivering exceptional results.

You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving — you can quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team of engineers and specialists. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of Amazon's global infrastructure.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as is familiarity with data center operations and maintenance practices. You may have certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering, which will enhance your ability to excel in this role.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operation Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers — your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, such as standby diesel generators, UPS systems, and cooling systems. You will ensure that all systems are functioning optimally, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers to monitor and maintain the infrastructure that supports AWS services — this includes performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures. Your hands-on experience will be invaluable as you work to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations.

In addition to technical tasks, you will participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about process improvements and best practices. Your insights will help shape the future of our operations, as you work alongside experts in the field to tackle the most challenging problems in data center management.

What we offer

At Amazon, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive compensation, medical coverage, and opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that encourages collaboration and innovation. We believe in empowering our employees to take ownership of their work and contribute to the success of our mission.

Join us in keeping the cloud running smoothly — your contributions will have a direct impact on the digital experiences of millions of customers worldwide. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
