SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for the Starlink Mobile project to develop high-reliability electronics for satellites. You'll work on system design, schematic capture, and PCB layout while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering and related technologies.
You have a strong background in electrical engineering with experience in designing high-reliability electronics for complex systems. Your expertise includes system design, schematic capture, and PCB layout, and you are comfortable with hardware troubleshooting and debugging. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate with mechanical and software engineering peers to drive successful outcomes across interdisciplinary subsystems.
You possess hands-on experience with tools such as Altium Designer and AutoCAD, and you are familiar with embedded systems and power electronics. Your knowledge of RF engineering and thermal analysis allows you to tackle challenges in high-speed digital communications and network system integration. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for developing innovative solutions that contribute to the advancement of technology.
Experience with LabVIEW and MATLAB is a plus, as is familiarity with industry standards for satellite and spacecraft electronics. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, and you are committed to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
As an Electrical Design Engineer on the Starlink Mobile project, you will take ownership of the entire life-cycle of hardware that enables global cellular connectivity from space. Your responsibilities will include driving system trades, capturing requirements, selecting components, and conducting analysis to ensure the success of complex electrical designs. You will oversee schematic capture and PCB layout, ensuring that designs meet the necessary specifications for performance and reliability.
You will engage in prototyping and hardware bring-up, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that products are built to the highest standards. Your role will also involve debugging and documentation, as well as testing to validate on-orbit performance of the designs you create. You will collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams to integrate various subsystems and ensure that all components work seamlessly together.
Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the Starlink Mobile network, and you will be part of a team that is pushing the boundaries of technology to enable human life on Mars.
