Security Software Engineer, Infrastructure Security (Staff or Senior)

Who you are

You are an experienced Security Software Engineer with a strong background in designing and building scalable security controls. You have a deep understanding of security mechanisms in Linux, including AppArmor and SELinux, and are proficient in using Kubernetes for secure infrastructure management. Your experience spans multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, allowing you to implement security measures across diverse environments. You have a proven track record of developing APIs and automation tools that enhance security posture at scale, and you are familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana and Splunk. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Site Reliability Engineering and other engineering teams to define secure architectures.

Desirable

You have experience integrating security into CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code practices, particularly with Terraform. Your knowledge of eBPF and runtime security policies positions you as a leader in enforcing security standards. You are comfortable leading complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring that security controls are versioned and deployed alongside application code. You are passionate about maintaining the highest security standards and are eager to mentor junior engineers in best practices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build core security primitives and services that protect MongoDB Atlas compute, networking, and identity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of infrastructure development. Your responsibilities will include developing secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security mechanisms and Kubernetes, as well as implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting pipelines that integrate with existing tooling. You will lead projects that require end-to-end ownership, from problem discovery and design documentation to implementation and long-term maintenance. You will also work on automating security posture management and vulnerability management processes, ensuring that security is a fundamental aspect of the development lifecycle.
