Apple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Time Synchronization to develop drivers and frameworks for various hardware platforms. You'll work with C++, Objective-C, and Swift to innovate on audio and video technologies. This role requires a strong background in driver development and network protocols.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing drivers and frameworks for audio and video technologies. Your strong programming skills in C++ and Objective-C allow you to engage at all layers of the software stack, from low-level kernel drivers to higher-level APIs. You are familiar with network protocols and have a knack for low-level debugging, which is essential for this role. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to innovate on new products. Your passion for technology drives you to stay updated with the latest advancements in audio and media technologies.
Experience with time synchronization protocols is a plus, as it aligns with the core responsibilities of this position. Familiarity with Apple's hardware platforms such as Mac, iOS, tvOS, and visionOS will give you an edge in understanding the ecosystem you will be working within. A background in audio design and engineering will also be beneficial as you collaborate with the Audio Design & Engineering Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of time synchronization related drivers, frameworks, and applications for Apple's innovative products. You will work on upcoming hardware and software releases, contributing to core technologies that underpin features like AirPlay and Continuity Camera. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing and optimizing low-level kernel drivers in C++, as well as developing higher-level APIs and frameworks using Objective-C and Swift. You will engage in hands-on coding while also collaborating with other engineers to ensure seamless integration of audio and video features across various platforms. You will be expected to debug complex issues and optimize performance, ensuring that the products meet Apple's high standards for quality and user experience.
