Job Description

Are you a passionate, self-starting software developer interested in building products to connect Amazonians with the information and insights they need through mobile experiences? We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team. You will be working on A to Z, Amazon’s flagship employee mobile application, used daily by millions of Amazonians. You'll work at the forefront of technology, leveraging the latest AWS services and industry-leading practices to deliver a dynamic, personalized, and fresh mobile experience to all of our users. We use the latest mobile native and LLM/GenAI technologies that can scale to serve millions of Amazonians globally. This role offers continuous opportunities to innovate as you develop new features, enhance existing tools, and design seamless integrations across Amazon's technical landscape.

Key job responsibilities
* Design and deliver mobile applications along with scalable backend services that serve our global workforce across diverse workflows
* Build fresh and dynamic front-ends that are pixel-perfect using React Native for both IOS and Android
* Build end-to-end solutions using modern serverless technologies and AWS services, ensuring exceptional performance and reliability
* Drive data-driven technical decisions while maintaining high standards in complex, ambiguous environments
* Collaborate with product and design partners to create intuitive user experiences that simplify complex workflows
* Innovate and improve our engineering practices while maintaining operational excellence
* Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
* Take ownership of critical features from design through production, ensuring they meet enterprise-scale requirements

A day in the life
As part of our team, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to create seamless user experiences while adhering to platform standards and governance. You'll solve complex technical challenges that impact millions of users. Your work will directly influence how Amazonians interact with essential workplace tools and information.

About the team
Within Amazonian Experience and Technology (AET), the A to Z Experiences team builds and maintains Amazon's primary employee platform across mobile and web. We own critical touchpoints including homepages, search functionality, and global navigation, serving a diverse workforce of 1.2M associates and 400K corporate employees. Our platform processes 3.9B annual interactions, making us essential to Amazonians' daily work lives - from managing schedules and pay to accessing benefits and career resources.- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
