SpaceX is seeking an NDE Inspector, Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform high-quality inspections of flight components and production assemblies. You'll engage with various welding processes and ensure compliance with standards. This role requires expertise in welding inspection and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You are a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with a strong background in non-destructive testing (NDE) and welding processes. You have experience performing inspections to determine if weldments and structures meet acceptance criteria according to specific codes and standards. Your ability to interpret codes and specifications in accordance with drawing requirements is essential. You are proficient in using computer systems to compile and submit data regarding inspections, including acceptance or rejection outcomes. You have a keen eye for detail and can recommend and approve repairs while performing visual inspections of work in progress and completed work.
In this role, you will perform internal and external inspections on various components of the Starship program. You will monitor welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and plasma arc welding (PAW) to ensure compliance with qualified procedures. Your responsibilities will include verifying and documenting welder qualifications and ensuring that all inspections are conducted in accordance with established standards. You will collaborate with engineering teams to provide insights for continuous improvement in inspection processes and contribute to the overall mission of making humanity interplanetary.
