We're seeking a dynamic and customer-obsessed Software Development Manager to lead the charge in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable distributed services for Ads Marketing org. As a key player in our organization, you'll partner with PMs, TPMs, Scientists, and Engineers to shape the future of Ads Marketing technology.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of large-scale, high-impact initiatives through direct reports and cross-functional collaboration.
* Partner with stakeholders and senior leadership to develop product strategies, roadmaps, and detailed requirements for our marketing tech platform.
* Drive architectural decisions and influence the development of complex features for Ads storefront and Amazon Ads Academy as well as foundational services such as a CDP.
* Bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions, assessing risks and creating the right sense of urgency for delivery.
* Define mechanisms to optimize team output and collaboration within the team and with partners.
* Develop the team's long-term technical strategy based on our business goals and emerging challenges
* Hire and develop top talent, manage both high and low performers, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit within the team.

- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
