Senior Data Engineer

Who you are

You are a seasoned Data Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in software development, particularly in building production APIs and backend services. You have a strong understanding of data engineering principles and are not looking to learn on the job; instead, you bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. Your experience includes designing APIs and applying design patterns in production code, ensuring that you can contribute effectively from day one.

You have a proven track record of building scalable batch and real-time data pipelines using technologies such as Kinesis, Pub/Sub, and Apache Spark. Your expertise extends to architecting multi-tier data lake architectures, where you define promotion criteria and data quality gates. You understand the importance of data integrity and are committed to maintaining high standards in your work.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build scalable data pipelines that support our analytics and reporting needs. You will work closely with the data team to optimize existing pipelines and ensure they meet the demands of our growing business. Your responsibilities will include architecting data lake solutions that facilitate efficient data storage and retrieval, allowing for real-time analytics.

You will be tasked with implementing best practices for data quality and governance, ensuring that our data is reliable and accessible for decision-making. Collaborating with data scientists, you will help define the data requirements for AI initiatives, enabling us to enhance our customer engagement strategies.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of our engineering practices.
