Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Build Engineer for the Structures team to develop innovative solutions for flight and manufacturing hardware for the Starship rocket. You'll work closely with design teams and utilize skills in CAD and manufacturing processes.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in the development of flight hardware and manufacturing processes. Your experience includes creating original CAD models and prints for flight and tooling components, and you are adept at resolving manufacturing discrepancies while collaborating with quality teams. You understand the importance of design for manufacturability and have a proven track record of enhancing production efficiency through innovative solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about contributing to groundbreaking projects like the Starship. You are a team player who enjoys working closely with vehicle analysts and design teams to ensure that solutions meet both design requirements and manufacturing processes.

Desirable

Experience with large part movement and structures integration is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and practices will help you excel in this role. You are also encouraged to bring your creativity and problem-solving skills to the table, as these will be essential in developing novel engineered solutions.

What you'll do

As a Build Engineer at SpaceX, you will own the development of flight hardware and build processes for the Starship rocket. You will coordinate and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing of systems and tooling needed to meet hardware deadlines. Your responsibilities will include developing production procedures and managing the transition of parts and assemblies from development to high-rate production. You will create and maintain build schedules, ensuring that all parts and assemblies are built efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will also participate in design reviews, both internally and with suppliers and customers, to ensure that all aspects of the build process are aligned with project goals.
