Axon is seeking a Principal of Equity Compensation to manage the company's equity plans and interface with various teams. This role requires expertise in equity incentive plans and international tax implications.
You have extensive experience in equity compensation, particularly with equity incentive plans such as stock options, RSUs, and PSUs. Your familiarity with international considerations and tax implications sets you apart in this field. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with teams across People Operations, Payroll, Legal, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tax. Your ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external audit teams is crucial for success in this role.
You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to manage the day-to-day activities of the company’s equity plans efficiently. You understand the importance of compliance with laws, regulations, and ordinances, ensuring that all equity compensation practices align with legal requirements. Your proactive approach to problem-solving enables you to drive real change within the organization.

Experience with unique equity plans, such as Axon's eXponential Stock Plan (XSP), would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with financial reporting and strategic investments is also beneficial, as you will report directly to the VP of Financial Reporting and Strategic Investments.
As the Principal of Equity Compensation at Axon, you will oversee the management of the company’s equity plans, ensuring they are executed effectively and in compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of these plans, including the administration of stock options, RSUs, and PSUs. Your role will involve interfacing extensively with various teams, including People Operations, Payroll, Legal, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tax, to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
You will analyze and interpret data related to equity compensation, providing insights that inform strategic decisions. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating international considerations and tax implications associated with equity plans. You will also play a key role in preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring that all documentation and processes are in order.
Your position will require you to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in equity compensation, allowing you to recommend improvements and innovations to existing plans. You will contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance the effectiveness of equity compensation practices within the organization.
