Google is seeking a Senior Power Engineer to design and build systems for their data centers. You'll work with power converter design and power system analysis. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and you have at least 4 years of experience working with power converter design, including DC/DC converter design and board bring-up and debugging. Your educational background may be complemented by a Master's degree or PhD, which is preferred. You have experience in technical leadership and a solid understanding of power system design, along with the ability to analyze and organize data effectively. Your knowledge of power electronics fundamentals and various power conversion designs for data center power delivery sets you apart. You are familiar with power converter modeling and simulation, which is crucial for this role.
As a Senior Power Engineer at Google, you will be a key member of the Platforms Team, responsible for designing and building the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. You will engage in projects that involve new technologies or innovative uses of existing technologies, leading the evaluation and adoption of compelling solutions in collaboration with industry leaders. Your role will require you to monitor the performance of vendors working on projects and evaluate new technologies to ensure successful roll-out, testing, and complete validation. You will provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting complex system-level power issues, ensuring that the systems you design meet the high standards expected at Google.
