Amazon Security is looking for a Sr. Security Industry Specialist (SIS) to join the Physical Security Operations (PhysSecOps) Team! This role is aligned with the AWS Security Operations Center (SOC) and is at the forefront of driving physical security operations across Amazon Security spanning a range of physical, logical, and technical domains.

Security is our highest priority. As an AWS SOC PhysSecOps team member and Sr. Security Industry Specialist, you will apply your experience to drive innovative security and risk mitigation solutions. An ideal candidate possesses the ability to gain and or maintain an in-depth understanding of disparate security systems and workflows in order to guide, consult, and drive innovative process changes through multiple organizations and teams. This role requires tactical work with both internal and external stakeholders, along with strategic thought to solve security challenges at scale.

Key job responsibilities
• Apply high-judgement while managing in-flight security issues. Triage/assess security issues and engage with internal service teams to ensure prompt mitigation and remediation of issues, escalating internally as necessary to ensure the right level of urgency and engagement.
• Communicate the state of these issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders, in varying levels and roles.
• Develop and implement risk frameworks to provide transparency to drive high judgement decisions.
• Analyze the security of devices, applications and services to identify security risks and mitigations, and quickly react to new threat scenarios.
• Act as an escalation and quality assurance focal for the team, providing broad and deep solutions that achieve outcomes while maintain an acceptable level of risk.
• Deliver working mechanisms/solutions spanning the full incident lifecycle, working backwards from both our internal needs and those of our customers.
• Drive execution and maintain alignment through creating program management structure and engagement with tech and non-tech stakeholders, leaders and executives.

• Experience with organizing teams to develop solutions to complex security issues in dynamic environments
• Experience implementing risk management frameworks and assessing security risks of devices, services, and applications
• Experience in large-scale project management roles, preferably in security, military, or law enforcement operations
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Strong data-driven analytical skills, with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics
• Experience effectively articulating recommendations/conclusions both verbally and in written form
• Proven ability to balance competing priorities and deliver amidst ambiguity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
