SpaceX is seeking a Senior IT Linux Site Reliability Engineer to manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters. You'll work with technologies like Ansible and Terraform in a fast-paced environment at Cape Canaveral.
You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, particularly with Linux systems, and possess a deep understanding of Kubernetes and containerized technologies. Your expertise allows you to manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters effectively, ensuring high availability and performance. You thrive in challenging environments and are known for your problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You are a self-motivated individual who takes personal responsibility for the systems and processes you manage, contributing to the mission of making humanity an interplanetary species.
You are proficient in using tools like Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure management and automation. Your experience includes installing, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments, and you are comfortable working with adjacent technologies to support critical business functions. You understand the importance of building resilient and scalable systems and are committed to continuous improvement and optimization.
Experience with RKE clusters is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices and monitoring tools. You have a keen interest in emerging technologies and are always looking for ways to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of site reliability engineering.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, management, scaling, and optimization of Kubernetes and RKE clusters. You will collaborate closely with other engineers at SpaceX to gather requirements and design software platforms that meet the needs of demanding engineering teams. Your work will involve researching and evaluating new technologies, planning deployments, and providing ongoing support for systems running in Kubernetes.
You will build highly resilient and high-performance systems, exercising a high degree of personal responsibility for the processes and tools you create.
