Apple is hiring a GPU Electrical Analysis Engineer to design and manufacture high-performance, power-efficient GPUs. You'll work closely with the Physical Design team and require hands-on experience in electrical analysis. This role is based in Austin, Texas.
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in GPU design and analysis. You possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating elegant solutions to complex challenges. Your experience includes hands-on work in physical design and large chip integration, allowing you to contribute effectively to the development of next-generation GPUs. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and have a solid understanding of power integrity, EM, and ESD analysis. You thrive in environments that require both strategic thinking and technical execution, ensuring that every aspect of the design meets high standards of performance and efficiency.
Experience with power grid specification and on-die power switch topology is a plus. Familiarity with bump map design, custom RDL routing, and package optimization will enhance your contributions to the team. You are also adept at developing test structures and automation procedures for electrical analysis challenges, showcasing your ability to innovate and improve processes.
As a GPU Electrical Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for realizing the complete electrical analysis closure from early design planning to tapeout. You will collaborate closely with the Physical Design team to design power grid specifications that achieve the best balance between power integrity targets and performance. Your role will involve defining on-die power switch topology, wake-up schemes, and in-rush control, ensuring that the GPU operates efficiently under various conditions. You will also develop methodologies for electrical analysis challenges, perform Power Integrity, EM, and ESD analysis, and drive feedback to recommend design improvements. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of Apple’s devices, making you a key player in the Silicon Technologies group.
