Re-imagine Amazon's moderation platforms. We're seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer who will obsess over the moderation customer experience, deliver best-in-class moderation products, and unlock new revenue opportunities for Amazon's advertising business.
The mission of the Advertising Trust team is to guide advertisers through the trust lifecycle of policy, moderation, and ad placement across Amazon advertising. We create advertiser trust and protect the shopper experience across billions of ads world-wide.
Key job responsibilities
A Sr. SDE within Advertising Trust Tech (ATT) leads, designs and independently delivers ambiguous engineering projects end to end, but will verify 1-way door decision with principal engineer and other Sr. SDE’s as needed, and are responsible for the success of their projects. They collaborate effectively within their team to distribute the workload and oversee the integration of different components for a successful launch. The Sr. SDE scope is at the team architecture level and while they may influence other teams, their primary focus is the work on their team’s software. A Sr. SDE on within ATT also deeply understands wider tech systems and ensures all decisions positively impact the ads architecture. A Sr. SDE is an expert in Native AWS technologies and guides the team through the tradeoffs to achieve the team goals while improving the overall architecture health. An Sr. SDE in ATT maintains a high bar of delivered artifacts across the entire team to ensure long-term success. They regularly advise leadership about the strategic opportunities and limitations of the systems and the best paths forward to deliver on our business goals. The Sr SDE represents ATT in wider design panels both within the org and in external design reviews. They are also a force multiplier within the team and an active mentor for others. They help their team understand how decisions will impact both advertisers and end customers, provide them with frameworks and mechanisms to build high judgement, and share best practices to ensure the team is as productive as possible. Sr. SDE influence through design reviews, peer CRs, and handling operations between teams, are active participants in the oncall rotation, are proactive in sharing relevant learnings and driving best practices that improve the speed and quality of delivery across the tech org.- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience in professional, non-internship software development
- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience in development in the last 3 years- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
