Sr. Big Data Engineer

Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience with Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark™, Kafka, Cloud Native, and Data Lakes in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role. Your strong experience in working on Big Data Architectures independently has equipped you with the skills to tackle complex data challenges. You are comfortable writing code in either Python or Scala, which allows you to effectively contribute to various projects. Your ability to consult on architecture and design makes you a valuable asset in guiding strategic customers through their big data transformations.

You thrive in environments where you can engage with clients directly, helping them understand and adopt the Databricks Platform. Your experience in providing data engineering and data science solutions has prepared you to handle a variety of impactful customer technical projects. You are adept at building reference architectures and production-grade MVPs, which are crucial for successful client engagements. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work closely with engineering teams and customer support to provide feedback and resolve issues efficiently.

What you'll do

As a Senior Big Data Engineer at Databricks, you will work on a variety of impactful customer technical projects, which may include building reference architectures and production-grade MVPs. You will guide strategic customers as they implement transformational big data projects, including end-to-end design, build, and deployment of industry-leading big data and AI applications. Your role will involve consulting on architecture and design, ensuring that customers successfully understand, evaluate, and adopt Databricks solutions.

You will collaborate with engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide product and implementation feedback, guiding rapid resolution for engagement-specific product and support issues. Your expertise will be crucial in helping clients integrate their systems with the Databricks Platform, ensuring they get the most value out of their data. You will also be responsible for training clients and providing technical support throughout their engagement.
