Legal Trainee (Fixed-Term Contract) (English, Dutch, French)

Minimum qualifications:

• Master's degree in a Law field from a Belgian University, with a specialization (LLM) in law and new technologies, commercial law, copyright law or privacy law.
• Experience working in a law firm or legal department of a company.
• Ability to communicate in English, Dutch and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with legal analysis and research.
• Experience in intellectual property, technology, or media law, with an interest in technology and IT-relevant legal problems and recent developments.
  
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Available to start March 2026 for 12 months fixed-term contract.

As a Legal Trainee, you will help to respond to legal challenges of the information age. You will get an insight into a variety of legal challenges at Google and YouTube, while promoting the development of internet law in an unconventional environment.

• Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising law, data protection, etc.).
• Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services.
• Assist the Legal team in the preparation and the management of court actions. Participate in the review and drafting of agreements.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
• Use internal AI tools for all of the above.
