SpaceX is hiring a Critical Lift Technician to manage the movement of Booster/Ship and ground support equipment at Starbase, TX. You'll perform preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and troubleshoot operational issues. This role requires experience with mobile cranes and associated equipment.
You have experience working with heavy machinery and are skilled in preventative maintenance — you understand the importance of maintaining equipment to ensure safety and efficiency in high-stakes environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside technicians and engineers to uphold the highest quality standards for systems and equipment. Your troubleshooting skills are top-notch, allowing you to quickly identify and resolve operational issues that may arise during critical lift operations. You are detail-oriented and capable of evaluating in-transit risks, providing effective solutions to mitigate them. Your ability to communicate effectively with logistics management helps improve the health and timing of equipment movements. You are committed to supporting the successful launch of multi-million dollar vehicles through your technical expertise.
As a Critical Lift Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the movement of Booster/Ship and associated ground support equipment across multiple launch sites. You will perform preventative maintenance on mobile cranes, cranes, and SPMTs, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition. Collaborating with a team of technicians and engineers, you will ensure that systems and mechanical equipment are built to the highest quality standards. You will utilize heavy machinery, including standard and high-capacity forklifts, telehandlers, and mobile hydraulic/crawler cranes, to lift and move flight hardware and associated GSE after delivery and before shipping. Your role will also involve evaluating in-transit risks and providing on-site solutions, including routing, repairs, and escorts across launch sites. You will make recommendations to logistics management to enhance the safety and efficiency of all movements, contributing to the overall success of SpaceX's ambitious goals.
