Job Description

Business Intelligence Engineer II, Network Design, Planning, & Engineering

Have you ever wondered how to optimize one of the most complex logistics networks in the world? How about how products on Amazon websites get delivered so fast, and what kinds of algorithms and processes are running behind the scenes? Are you a data driven individual, interested in optimization, explainability and like to solve problems? If so, this role if for you!

Join Amazon's Global Transportation Services team as a Business Intelligence Engineer II and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our delivery network.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain dashboards using tools like Quicksight to visualize complex transportation data
- Create and optimize ETL pipelines to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable insights
- Automate processes to improve efficiency and scalability of data-driven decision making
- Partner with scientists, engineers, product managers, and program managers to build and productionize forecasting metrics; perform analysis to identify the root cause of issues and generate actionable insights to guide the appropriate solution
- Conduct deep dive investigations into operations execution and business problems, identify opportunities, and lead or support implementation

A day in the life
You will typically engage in a variety of activities, starting from sprint planning, which will lead to analyses, developing reports, tools, logic, coding, and driving projects with both tech and non-tech stakeholders. You will participate in brainstorming sessions, code reviews and analyzing results, and may partake in higher visibility meetings to drive improvements and deliverables. This will all roll up to impacting the transportation network with tangible, positive improvements for the customer.

About the team
Our Global Transportation Services team is dedicated to revolutionizing Amazon's delivery network through data-driven innovation. We focus on strategies and solutions that constantly push the boundaries of what's possible in logistics. Our vision is to create the most efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric delivery network in the world. We value curiosity, analytical thinking, and a passion for solving complex problems.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
