Engineering Manager

Location Qualifications: Bucharest (hybrid, 2 days in the office)

 

About the position

We are looking for a skilled Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Bucharest. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in Showpad's expansion into Romania, while driving the ongoing optimization, and scalability of our platforms, and streamlining processes to create efficient pathways and reduce friction for engineering teams.

 

Key responsibilities as an Engineering Manager at Showpad

Engineering Leaders at Showpad maintain an unwavering focus on three key pillars: Craftsmanship, People & Project delivery.

 

Craftsmanship

• Define the engineering vision in close collaboration, aligned with product strategy and overall business goals.
• Play a crucial role in establishing "golden paths" for software development. Further, establishing a buy vs build mentality.
• Utilize data from engineering metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

People

• Attract, hire, and develop top software engineering talent.
• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration and innovation.
• Implement effective performance management processes and provide career development opportunities.

Project delivery

• Define and prioritize engineering projects, aligning with broader company goals.
• Lead execution of complex technical projects on time and within budget.
• Ensure high-quality software development and delivery, adhering to best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders across the company.

What we looking for:

• Experience in software engineering and engineering leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies and best practices.
• Interest in AI and AI tools.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and coach engineers to achieve their full potential.
• Passion for building a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Experience recruiting and managing talent in an international setting.
