Overview

Truebill is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Credit Products team to develop technology solutions that empower clients on their financial journey. You'll work with Python, FastAPI, and React among other technologies. This role requires strong full-stack development experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced full-stack software engineer with a strong background in building user-facing applications and internal tools. You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can contribute to both greenfield projects and existing systems. Your expertise includes working with a variety of technologies, and you are comfortable navigating complex data pipelines and application architectures.

You have a deep understanding of Python and its frameworks, particularly FastAPI, and you are proficient in JavaScript frameworks like React. Your experience with backend technologies includes working with databases such as PostgreSQL and message brokers like Kafka. You are familiar with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and you have experience with cloud services, particularly AWS.

You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions. You have strong communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers. You are passionate about improving user experiences and are committed to delivering high-quality software.

Desirable

Experience with C# and .NET is a plus, as well as familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure management. You are also open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of the team and the organization.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Credit Products team, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining applications that help clients prepare for homeownership. You will work closely with product managers and other engineers to design and implement features that enhance user engagement and streamline internal processes. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to ensure quality standards are met.

You will be responsible for building data pipelines that enrich and operationalize data across the organization, enabling better decision-making and improved client services. You will also collaborate with other teams to integrate your solutions with existing systems, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.

In addition to development work, you will participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall strategy of the Credit Products team. You will have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
