Waabi is seeking a Senior / Staff EDS Engineer to lead the design and development of automotive-grade electrical distribution systems. You'll work with CAD tools and apply your expertise in electrical engineering to support self-driving technology. This role requires significant experience in electrical systems design.
You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in the design and development of automotive-grade electrical distribution systems. Your expertise includes wire harnesses, connectors, and vehicle networks, which you have applied in real-world projects. You are proficient in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, and have a strong understanding of GD&T principles to ensure precision in your designs. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside multidisciplinary teams of engineers and research scientists to drive innovation in self-driving technology.
You possess deep knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, and casting, which allows you to optimize part designs for manufacturability. Your experience includes tailoring integration strategies for various vehicle platforms, from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks, ensuring compliance with specific technical requirements. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering production-ready CAD packages that meet high standards of quality and performance.
Experience with complex 3D CAD assemblies and the ability to integrate both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and proprietary hardware across diverse vehicle zones is a plus. Familiarity with load analysis and vehicle network design will further enhance your contributions to the team.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of electrical distribution systems for Waabi's self-driving technology. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and research scientists, utilizing an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale. Your responsibilities will include developing complex 3D CAD assemblies and delivering production-ready 2D and 3D CAD packages, applying GD&T and detailed specifications to ensure precision fabrication.
You will also be responsible for conducting load analysis and creating pin outs for various vehicle networks, ensuring that all designs adhere to the specific technical requirements of different vehicle platforms. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and automotive technology, applying this knowledge to optimize designs and improve system performance.
Waabi offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 - $230,000 USD, along with additional perks and benefits, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
