Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for the Starlink team to develop customer-facing products and devices. You'll work with technologies like AutoCAD and Embedded Linux in Bastrop, TX.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, particularly in developing consumer hardware products. Your expertise includes working with embedded systems and you are proficient in tools like AutoCAD and LabVIEW. You understand the intricacies of designing hardware that meets high-volume production standards and have a strong grasp of the entire product lifecycle from concept to deployment. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about creating innovative solutions that enhance connectivity for users worldwide.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex engineering challenges with ease. Your experience includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet both technical specifications and user needs. You are detail-oriented and have a track record of delivering projects on time while maintaining high quality. You are also comfortable with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes, allowing you to adapt to changing requirements quickly.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or similar technologies would be a plus. Familiarity with regulatory standards for consumer electronics is also beneficial. You are eager to learn and grow within a company that is at the forefront of space technology and internet connectivity.

What you'll do

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on the Starlink team, you will take ownership of the design and development of customer-facing products such as Starlink dishes and Wi-Fi routers. You will work closely with other engineers to create innovative hardware solutions that enable users to connect to our satellite network seamlessly. Your role will involve conducting feasibility studies, creating detailed design specifications, and overseeing the prototyping and testing phases of product development.

You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are optimized for production and meet quality standards. Your responsibilities will also include troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during the development process, ensuring that products are delivered on schedule. You will participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve product functionality and user experience.

In addition, you will stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform your design decisions.
