Overview

Optiver is launching the FutureFocus program in Sydney for aspiring traders, researchers, and developers. Participants will learn trading fundamentals and gain insights into cutting-edge trading systems. This entry-level program is designed for pre-penultimate university students.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a pre-penultimate university student, graduating in 2028 or 2029, eager to kickstart your career in trading, research, or development. You possess a strong interest in financial markets and technology, and you are ready to immerse yourself in a hands-on learning experience. You are open to learning from experienced professionals and are excited about the opportunity to connect with recent graduates who have successfully navigated the program.

What you'll do

During the FutureFocus program, you will engage in a five-day immersive experience that covers the fundamentals of trading theory and practice. You will learn how to build trading strategies and deploy them in a virtual market, gaining practical insights into market making. Led by ex-traders and engineers, you will participate in both hands-on and classroom learning, empowering you to thrive in the world of trading and technology. You will have the chance to see Optiver’s cutting-edge trading systems in action and understand how they maintain their competitive edge in the global financial markets.

If you excel in the FutureFocus program, you may receive a direct offer for the 2027/28 Summer Internship Program.
