Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to develop a scalable test automation system for cloud environments. You'll collaborate with QA and engineering teams, utilizing your backend expertise to improve software quality. This role requires strong skills in Java and cloud technologies.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in backend development, and have a proven track record of building scalable systems. Your expertise in Java allows you to make architectural decisions that enhance software performance and reliability. You are comfortable collaborating with QA teams and understand the importance of test automation in the software development lifecycle.
You possess a strong understanding of cloud environments and have experience implementing solutions that leverage cloud technologies. Your ability to think creatively and utilize cutting-edge technologies, including AI, sets you apart as a forward-thinking engineer. You are also passionate about mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and navigate their career paths.

In this role, you will take ownership of developing a scalable test automation system for cloud environments, working closely with QA and engineering teams to ensure high software quality. You will drive the technical strategy for testing across the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), making it easier for developers to write tests and improve overall software quality.
You will conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of our products, as you implement best practices for testing and automation.
You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them develop their skills. Your leadership will help shape the technical direction of the team, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of technology and innovation.
