Clutch is seeking a Senior Accountant – Controls to join their Finance team in Toronto. You'll be involved in the full accounting cycle, focusing on internal controls and compliance. This role requires experience in accounting processes and risk management.
You have a strong background in accounting with a focus on internal controls and compliance. With experience in the full accounting cycle, you understand the importance of establishing and strengthening financial processes. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying process gaps and mitigating risks. Your ability to document and improve operational processes ensures clarity and scalability within the finance team. You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the company's growth and IPO readiness.
Experience with financial statement preparation and a solid understanding of accounting principles will set you apart. Familiarity with risk assessment and management practices is a plus, as is a background in the automotive or e-commerce sectors. You are comfortable working with various stakeholders and can communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
In this role, you will document, maintain, and improve accounting and operational processes, ensuring control and consistency across the board. You will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, playing a crucial role in the financial reporting cycle. Your focus will be on establishing robust internal controls that support compliance and operational efficiency. You will assess and identify risks within financial processes, working closely with the VP, Corporate Controller to implement effective mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will support the company's IPO readiness by ensuring that all financial processes are well-documented and compliant with regulatory standards. Your contributions will help shape the financial landscape of Clutch as it continues to grow and innovate in the used car retail space.
