Wikimedia is hiring a Research Scientist to conduct applied research on the integrity of Wikipedia knowledge and its communities. This fully remote role requires collaboration across various time zones and a commitment to the principles of free knowledge and open source.

You thrive in interdisciplinary environments and are eager to contribute to research that impacts the integrity of Wikipedia and its communities. Your experience in applied research equips you to tackle complex questions about online disinformation and community dynamics. You understand the importance of collaboration across different time zones and are prepared to engage with team members from diverse backgrounds. You are passionate about using research to inform and guide practices within the Wikipedia model, and you are excited to work on projects that enhance the platform's reliability and trustworthiness.
Experience in conducting research related to online platforms or community-driven projects would be beneficial. Familiarity with methodologies for studying user behavior and community interactions is a plus. As a Research Scientist at Wikimedia, you will conduct applied research focused on the integrity of Wikipedia knowledge and its communities.
