Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. You'll work with C++, Java, and Python to tackle large-scale systems and performance challenges. This role requires 2+ years of programming experience.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, and you have at least 2 years of experience programming in C++, Java, or Python — your technical skills enable you to tackle complex problems and contribute to innovative solutions. You have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, gained through either academic or industry experience, which allows you to optimize performance and efficiency in your work.
Your experience includes working with large-scale systems, data analysis, and visualization tools — you are adept at debugging and resolving issues that arise in complex environments. You have a keen interest in developing accessible technologies, ensuring that your contributions are inclusive and user-friendly. Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis, and resolution is second nature to you, as is software test engineering.
You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to take on new challenges across the full-stack as Google continues to push technology forward. You thrive in collaborative environments and are enthusiastic about contributing fresh ideas from various fields, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and artificial intelligence.
A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred, as is additional experience with performance optimization and debugging in large-scale systems. Your background may include exposure to networking, data storage, security, natural language processing, and UI design, which enhances your ability to contribute to diverse projects.
As a Software Engineer III at Google, you will work on specific projects critical to the company’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow and evolve within the organization. You will manage project priorities and deadlines, ensuring that best practices are followed, including style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
Your role will involve contributing to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. You will triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
