CTO - Founding Engineer - On-site in Miami

You are a seasoned technology leader with a strong background in building scalable products from the ground up. With experience as a CTO or in a similar role, you have a proven track record of leading engineering teams and making architectural decisions that prioritize scalability and maintainability. You thrive in startup environments and are comfortable being a hands-on contributor while also guiding a growing team. Your expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js allows you to make informed decisions about the tech stack and ensure that the product is built efficiently and effectively.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate closely with founders and translate their vision into a technical roadmap. You understand the importance of establishing best practices for engineering, deployment, and security, and you are committed to fostering a culture of excellence within your team. You are adaptable and willing to balance immediate execution with long-term leadership responsibilities as the company evolves.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and modern development practices is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a passion for mentoring engineers will help you succeed in this role.

What you'll do

As the Founding CTO, you will lead the 0-to-1 build of the company’s core product, making critical architectural decisions that will shape the future of the organization. You will own full-stack development, ensuring that both backend services and frontend delivery are optimized for performance and scalability. Your role will involve hands-on coding, particularly in the early phases, as you establish the foundation for the engineering team.

You will work closely with the founders to define the long-term technical roadmap and execution strategy, ensuring that the product aligns with the company’s vision. As the team grows, you will take on leadership responsibilities, hiring and mentoring engineers to build a high-performing team. You will establish best practices for engineering processes, deployment, and security, creating a culture of accountability and excellence.

Your ability to balance immediate execution with strategic planning will be crucial as you navigate the challenges of building a startup. You will partner with the founders to make technical trade-offs that align with business goals, ensuring that the product is not only functional but also cost-efficient.

What we offer

G2i Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $125,000–$150,000 and meaningful equity in the company.
