Software Engineer II - Fullstack

Who you are

You have experience building production-ready web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript, and you're familiar with modern frontend frameworks such as React. Your hands-on experience developing backend services or APIs using general-purpose programming languages sets you apart. You possess a solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, APIs, testing, and debugging. You thrive in collaborative environments, working effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver well-scoped projects from design through production.

You have a strong foundation in fullstack engineering, owning features across both frontend and backend. Your familiarity with internal tools, admin platforms, or enterprise-facing applications enhances your ability to contribute to team-level technical decisions. You are eager to learn and grow within Uber’s engineering ecosystem, contributing to high engineering standards through clean, well-tested code and participation in code reviews.

Desirable

Experience with distributed systems, data-driven applications, or high-reliability domains such as payments, finance, or commerce is a plus. You have strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.

What you'll do

In this role, you will build and maintain fullstack features for internal payments and commerce tools used across Uber. You will develop intuitive and performant user interfaces while partnering with backend systems and APIs. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, well-tested code and participating in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver well-scoped projects from design through production, ensuring that your contributions align with Uber's mission to reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
