Microsoft is hiring a Datacenter Business Operations Program Manager II to optimize IT capacity and reduce stranded capacity in datacenters. You'll work closely with Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers, leveraging Azure technologies. This role requires experience in operations management and program execution.
You have a strong background in operations management, ideally with experience in datacenter environments — you've successfully led projects that optimize IT capacity and improve operational efficiency. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers, sets you apart. You understand the importance of data-driven decision-making and have a keen eye for identifying opportunities to enhance Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH).

In this role, you will be a key member of the local team focused on the deployment planning and optimization of IT capacity within Microsoft’s datacenters. Your primary responsibility will be to reduce stranded capacity, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively to support Microsoft’s extensive portfolio of online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. You will lead retrofit efforts to upgrade legacy datacenters, collaborating closely with engineering teams to implement innovative solutions that enhance capacity and efficiency.
You will analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement, developing strategies that drive Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH). Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed on time and within budget, while also maintaining a focus on quality and safety standards. You will be responsible for tracking project progress and reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
As part of the Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will contribute to a culture of learning and development, participating in training programs and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
