Senior IVI System Engineer (Radio)

Who you are

You have over 7 years of experience in embedded systems development, particularly with ARM-based SoCs, and possess a strong background in Android and Linux environments. Your expertise includes developing device drivers and optimizing system performance, ensuring high-quality radio reception and stability. You are skilled in interpreting hardware specifications and performing low-level debugging, which allows you to effectively collaborate with hardware and audio framework teams. Your experience in customizing HALs based on HIDL or AIDL demonstrates your ability to adapt and enhance existing systems for better functionality. You have a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Desirable

Experience in mass production development of vehicle infotainment systems at OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is a plus. Familiarity with RF tuner chipsets and interfaces such as SPI and I2C will set you apart. You have a proven track record of debugging in vehicle environments, which is crucial for ensuring system reliability and performance.

What you'll do

As a Senior IVI System Engineer (Radio) at 42dot, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of the Radio Tuner system within the vehicle infotainment system. Your primary focus will be on creating and refining the Board Support Package (BSP) for the Android platform, ensuring seamless integration with various radio tuner devices including AM/FM, DAB, and HD Radio. You will develop device drivers that facilitate communication between the hardware and the Android system, enhancing the overall user experience. Your role will involve debugging and optimizing the performance of the radio reception quality, ensuring that users enjoy a stable and high-quality listening experience.

You will collaborate closely with the hardware and audio framework teams to integrate various components, ensuring that the system operates smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and reliability of the infotainment system, making it a key part of the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) ecosystem. You will also be involved in customizing the Android Radio HAL to meet specific requirements, which will require a deep understanding of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) build system.
