Amazon is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer II to join our AI Technology team within Amazon's Consumer Electronics Technology (CE-Tech) organization. You'll be part of a team that drives AI innovation across Amazon's BEATS division, working on cutting-edge applications of machine learning and generative AI to enhance customer shopping experiences and vendor/internal tooling.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain innovative and scalable ML systems and AI-powered features that serve millions of customers as well as partners and internal users
- Evaluate AI technologies and architectures when developing solutions, and specify/implement improvements like fine-tuning or training custom ML models.
- Collaborate with Applied Scientists to implement and optimize ML models and algorithms
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage and documentation
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in code reviews, keeping the bar high for maintainable and extensible code.
- Collaborate with product, applied science and other key stakeholders to define technical requirements and delivery timelines. Integrate feedback to enhance design and establish feedback loops for continuous improvement based on user metrics
- Build and maintain monitoring systems for ML applications in production
- Contribute to the team's technical strategy and apply best practices for code building and customer scaling requirements.
More about the team: CE Tech’s AI Tech team is AI arm of Amazon’s BEATS (Business, Electronics, Auto, and Technology Solutions) division with a remit that spans diverse Hardlines categories in the US, a worldwide remit in high value consumer shopping experiences on Amazon (e.g. consumer shopping cart basket building), as well as vendor and employee tooling on behalf of North American Stores (NAS). - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
