The Special Projects team at Apple is developing novel customer-facing conversational features that leverage the multimodal capabilities of state-of-the-art foundation models. We are looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead the development and evaluation of such features in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
Description
In this role, you will:
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science or other STEM majors or equivalent experience
Experience managing and building teams shipping customer facing products
Excellent at communication and cross functional collaboration
Experience with the use and evaluation of foundation models
Experience in Python and ML frameworks (Pytorch or Tensorflow)
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related technical field
4+ years of hands-on industry experience with Machine Learning systems
Proficiency in training and evaluation of foundation models and frameworks
A track record of publications or technical presentations in Machine Learning journals or conferences
Excellent at communication and cross functional collaboration
Responsibilities
Manage a team working to build customer experiences by evaluation and training of cutting edge ML models
Work with your team and cross organizational stakeholders on evaluation strategies to translate product requirements to objective metrics
Shepherd data collection, annotation and evaluation efforts to ensure rapid and measurable progress
Collaborate with key stakeholders in hardware engineering, software engineering and design to develop prototypes and evolve them into production systems
