Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. You possess strong analytical skills and a drive to improve AI systems, demonstrating a keen understanding of how to measure and monitor performance effectively. Your experience includes designing robust evaluation frameworks and translating cutting-edge research into practical tooling. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating complex technical topics to diverse audiences.

You have a solid foundation in programming, particularly with Python, and are familiar with machine learning concepts and practices. Your background enables you to evaluate and analyze the performance of generative AI applications, driving performance improvements through data-driven insights. You thrive in environments that challenge you to innovate and push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with generative AI technologies and frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools for AI development can enhance your contributions to the team. You are eager to learn and adapt, staying updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Generative AI Evaluations team, you will design and develop platform features that assist solution developers in experimenting with and identifying optimal configurations for delivering high-quality generative AI applications. You will evaluate and analyze the performance of these applications, actively collaborating with your team to drive performance improvements. Your role will involve translating the latest research into reliable and scalable evaluations that enhance user experiences.

You will engage in all aspects of feature development, from ideation and experimentation to deployment and maintenance. Your ability to communicate complex technical topics effectively will be crucial as you work with various stakeholders to ensure that the generative AI solutions are trustworthy, efficient, and of high quality. You will have the opportunity to influence both the inner workings of Apple’s AI platforms and the broader standards for evaluating generative applications at scale.
