Who you are

You are an experienced corporate generalist with a strong background in providing legal support across various teams. You have a practical and proactive approach, comfortable working directly with stakeholders at all levels. Your ability to collaborate effectively with teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Compliance sets you apart. You possess a deep understanding of commercial agreements and the legal landscape surrounding e-commerce.

You have a proven track record of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, professional services, consulting, data processing, NDAs, and service level agreements. Your expertise in compliance, privacy, consumer protection, and advertising ensures that you can provide practical, solutions-oriented guidance to business teams. You are adept at managing outside counsel relationships and ensuring that legal advice aligns with company priorities.

Desirable

Experience in the e-commerce sector is a plus, as is familiarity with the legal and regulatory developments relevant to marketplaces and content. You are a strategic thinker who can advise on product development and launches, ensuring compliance with applicable laws while mitigating risk. Your strong communication skills allow you to convey complex legal concepts in a way that is accessible to non-legal stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will act as a strategic legal partner to the Product, Engineering, and Design teams, advising on product development and new features. You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements that are essential for the company's operations. Your role will involve hands-on collaboration with internal stakeholders to drive transactions to completion and align on risk management strategies. You will monitor legal and regulatory developments that impact the e-commerce landscape, ensuring that the company remains compliant and proactive in its legal approach.

You will provide practical guidance on contracting, compliance, privacy, consumer protection, and advertising, helping teams navigate complex legal issues. Your ability to work closely with InfoSec, Compliance, Operations, and Finance will be crucial in managing outside counsel relationships and ensuring that legal advice is efficient and consistent with company priorities. You will also be responsible for reviewing filings and conducting legal research to support the company's objectives.
