Job Description for Transportation Procurement Specialist is responsible for strategically managing and optimizing the organization's transportation procurement processes. This role requires a deep understanding of the transportation industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive cost savings while maintaining service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for transportation services across various programs.
Manage complex RFP processes and contract negotiations with transportation providers.
Analyze market trends, capacity issues, and pricing dynamics to inform procurement strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation procurement with overall supply chain objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key transportation providers and internal stakeholders.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation costs, service levels, and supplier performance.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in transportation procurement.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all procurement activities.
Mentor and guide junior team members in transportation procurement best practices.
- 1+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience
- 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
- 3+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management
- English Advanced- Experience in procurement
- Experience in Coupa or other financial management/procurement software
