Overview

Xometry is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Scientist to enhance their cost prediction team. You'll leverage machine learning and data science principles to develop predictive models using 3D data. This role requires expertise in Python, SQL, and cloud resources like AWS.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in computer vision and machine learning, with a focus on developing predictive models using 3D data. Your experience includes using data science principles to construct, optimize, and evaluate models that predict business outcomes. You are proficient in statistical analysis and can make defensible inferences from data, ensuring that your models are both accurate and reliable.

You are skilled in writing software to prepare, clean, and sample data, which is crucial for developing effective predictive models. Your familiarity with cloud resources, particularly Amazon Web Services, allows you to efficiently process and manage large datasets. You are comfortable querying and extracting data from databases such as Snowflake and MongoDB, which enhances your ability to work with diverse data sources.

Your expertise extends to data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker. You understand the importance of using these tools to inform business strategy and drive decision-making. You thrive in environments that require continuous learning and iteration, and you are adept at solving complex, uncharted problems.

You possess a collaborative spirit and enjoy working in teams where knowledge sharing and teamwork are emphasized. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to fast-paced environments makes you a valuable asset to any project.

Desirable

Experience with additional machine learning frameworks or libraries would be a plus, as would familiarity with other data visualization tools. A background in applied mathematics or natural sciences can further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Computer Vision Scientist at Xometry, you will be responsible for developing predictive models that leverage 3D data to enhance cost prediction capabilities. You will apply your knowledge of machine learning and data science to create models that accurately predict various business outcomes, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Your role will involve writing software to prepare and clean data, ensuring that the datasets used for model development are of high quality. You will utilize cloud resources, particularly AWS, to manage and process data efficiently, enabling you to focus on model development rather than data management.

You will query and extract data from databases like Snowflake and MongoDB, which will be essential for your model training and evaluation processes. Your ability to analyze and visualize data using tools such as SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks will help inform strategic decisions within the company.

In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, collaborating with other data scientists and engineers to iterate on solutions and tackle challenging problems. Your contributions will directly impact the company's ability to predict costs accurately and efficiently, making your work critical to the business's success.

What we offer

Xometry provides a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to projects that have a significant impact on the manufacturing industry. The company values continuous learning and offers resources for professional development, ensuring that you can grow your skills and advance your career.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. At Xometry, we believe in the potential of our employees and are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
