Job Description

The Sr. Manager, OPM will lead a team of high-performing Operations Program Managers. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You'll work closely with a team of manufacturing and supply chain experts to develop and validate world class manufacturing capabilities that deliver the right quantity, cost, and quality to Amazon’s customers. Experience in new product design and development, contract manufacturing, and working in a high paced environment is a must.

The ideal candidate will thrive on ambiguity, problem solving and a fast-paced environment. They will be a self-starter, able to influence across teams and organizations, and have strong business judgment to help inform priorities for the team and asks for partner organizations to deliver the highest return on investment for the company.

We are looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a critical part of the hardware development process. We ensure successful fulfillment for product launches and ongoing support, grow the capabilities of our current systems to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company.


Key job responsibilities
- Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus constraints to maximize business benefit
- Solve problems in a dynamic environment and influence business and technical leaders with creative solutions
- Help develop process to establish the best manufacturing engagement model in accordance to the type of product
- Lead an internal cross functional team and external vendor to deliver the next generation products
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure the program achieves its program milestones, meets quality requirements, and meets/beats financial targets
- Deliver results on complex program launches involving cross-functional teams
- Work with stakeholders to define program business requirements
- Understand current system capabilities and limitations; problem solve and explore solutions to current processes and systems
- Drive continuous improvements and coordinating with cross functional teams to implementation
- This role will require some travel

About the team
The Manager, OPM role reports into the Product Operations Organization. A global product focused organization responsible for coordinating program specific activities related to cost, supply chain and manufacturing across different functional areas with the objective of creating products that help make neighborhoods safer.Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
4+ years of team management experience
7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
10+ years of program or project management experience
10+ Experience in HW Operations/HW Manufacturing (Hardware Manufacturing experience is a must)
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery
Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interestsMBA
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining and executing program requirements
Cultural acumen and experience in hiring, managing and developing globally disperse teams or remote teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
