Want to build systems that enable Selling Partners to grow their business and delight Amazon customers? The Selling Partner Promotions (SPP) team is looking for a Sr. SDE to lead initiatives to build new tools to help our Selling Partners better manage their promotions.
Key job responsibilities
You should be able to lead highly ambiguous projects by working with Product Managers, business teams, and tech leadership to build systems that unify seller and vendor promotions on a new architecture. You will be expected to be the 'tech lead' for these projects, and lead a team of several engineers to deliver them. You will be part of a wider organization that has well-defined processes.
You will own the long term architecture of your team, and be responsible for the quality of design and implementation. You will work with Principal Engineers, Senior Managers in the Promotions org and our partner teams to define the tech vision and help execute it. You will also advise SDMs and PMs on tech tradeoffs and balancing Operational Excellence with new feature development.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
