Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in aerospace engineering or a related field, with experience in mission autonomy and systems integration. Your technical expertise allows you to deliver reliable and repeatable aircraft mission behavior, ensuring that autonomy operates correctly within the aircraft’s mission and operational context. As a first-level people leader, you excel in providing guidance and support to engineers working on autonomy integration, avionics, and mission behavior. You are hands-on and enjoy being involved in the technical aspects of the projects you lead.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can adapt to the fast-paced environment of high-speed aircraft manufacturing. Your ability to integrate, adapt, and validate mission autonomy capabilities is crucial for the success of the aircraft systems. You understand the importance of collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Department of Defense, to ensure that the capabilities delivered meet national interests.

Desirable

Experience with GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) coupling and sensor integration is a plus. Familiarity with software development for aircraft systems will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. A passion for aviation and a commitment to maintaining an asymmetric advantage for the nation and its allies will resonate with the mission of Hermeus.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering mission autonomy integration within the aircraft system. You will own the integration of mission autonomy capabilities, ensuring that they are validated and tested for mission readiness. Your work will involve close collaboration with engineers to develop aircraft-specific software and avionics, as well as sensor integrations required to achieve mission-ready behavior.

You will lead the technical execution of projects, ensuring that mission decision-making behavior is effectively integrated into the aircraft's systems. Your leadership will guide the team in achieving successful mission execution outcomes, and you will be accountable for the integration and test readiness of the autonomy systems.

As a hands-on leader, you will remain engaged in the technical aspects of the projects, providing mentorship and support to your team members. You will facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the mission autonomy integration are aligned with the overall goals of the aircraft development.

What we offer

At Hermeus, you will be part of a pioneering team focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that contributes to national defense and security. The company fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, where your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of the mission.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Hermeus values diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we believe that a strong team is built on a foundation of varied experiences and skills. Join us in our mission to redefine the future of aviation.
