What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Claude Developer Platform team, you will play a key role in building and scaling the Claude API, which is designed to provide developers with access to advanced AI capabilities. You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to launch new models and enhance existing functionalities, ensuring that the API remains reliable and performant. Your work will involve designing and implementing backend services that handle high volumes of requests while maintaining low latency and high availability.

You will also be responsible for optimizing the developer experience by providing clear documentation and support for users of the Claude API. This includes gathering feedback from developers and iterating on features to meet their needs effectively. You will participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and helping to foster a culture of excellence within the team.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable engineering tasks.
