Navan is hiring a Senior Analyst in Travel Operations to drive operational excellence through analysis and automation. You'll work with GDS systems and collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize workflows. This role requires 3-5 years of experience in travel operations.
You have 3–5 years of experience in travel operations, ideally within a Travel Management Company (TMC), Online Travel Agency (OTA), or airline environment — your background has equipped you with a strong understanding of the industry and its operational challenges. You possess hands-on experience with GDS systems, such as Sabre or Amadeus, which allows you to navigate complex workflows effectively. Your analytical mindset is complemented by a proven track record in process improvement or automation projects, enabling you to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions. You excel in translating operational needs into technical requirements, ensuring that the solutions you propose are both practical and impactful.
Your excellent communication skills allow you to act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams — you can articulate complex ideas clearly and foster collaboration across functions. You are detail-oriented and organized, capable of creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and training guides that enhance team efficiency. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by the opportunity to drive change and improve operational workflows.
Experience with data analysis tools or methodologies is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to monitor automation effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations. Familiarity with project management tools can also be beneficial in managing your tasks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
In your role as a Senior Analyst in Travel Operations, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence through analysis, automation, and process improvement. You will identify and assess automation opportunities in flight operations workflows, working closely with Product and Engineering teams to define and test requirements for automation tools. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you monitor automation effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
You will lead investigations into recurring operational issues or exceptions, analyzing data to identify patterns, root causes, and potential solutions. Your insights will support operational pilots and efficiency projects aimed at reducing manual work, ensuring that the operations team can focus on high-value tasks. You will troubleshoot escalated issues within operations, identifying root causes and implementing solutions that enhance overall performance.
As a subject matter expert for operational workflows within the flights domain, you will partner closely with Service Delivery and Vendor teams to gather insights and feedback. Your ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams will be essential in fostering collaboration and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on operational goals.
You will also own the creation and maintenance of SOPs, process maps, and training guides, supporting onboarding and cross-training efforts across teams. Your contributions will help establish a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the organization.
